Meet Christine! It took just over a year at Enara to get to onederland (her first goal), but she has lost over 90 lbs (33%) thus far!

Christine’s Story

Hi everyone, my name is Christine Sullivan and I, like many others, am an emotional eater! Thankfully, Enara has helped me discover how to be emotionally in control in regards to food and making better choices…

Like for many of us, the pandemic was hard on me. I often found myself overeating, depressed and feeling ashamed about how badly I had let myself go. Additionally, I suffered from an ongoing knee issue which kept me from being active for nearly a year. I knew that I needed to make big changes in my life, starting with my diet and that I need support from other people. When I joined Enara I found those ‘other people’ which included my Nutrition Specialist, Dalia Siada and my Medical Provider, Andrea Pollema; both of whom became my biggest cheerleaders and source of accountability.

When I joined Enara in May 2021 I weighed 285 lbs. My first goal was to get to ‘ONEderland’ (199 or under) and I’m happy to say that I met that goal as of August 2022 by losing a total of 88 lbs. I’ve been kicking back and forth 10 lbs since then, but as this being my first plateau, I’m not too concerned. You can say I’m in an unintentional ‘maintenance phase’ at the moment, but with the help from Enara I know I’ll be seeing those numbers go down again. I’ve learned that a big part of weight management is patience and not stressing about scale fluctuations.

My next goal is to reach 160 lbs. I’m 49 yrs old, 5’8 and feeling GREAT!!!

I’ve been most excited when I do my labs and body composition. It’s so great to see actual data and know that everything is trending in a positive way. I’ve been able to lose fat while maintaining my muscle. Dalia helps keep me accountable for what I put in my mouth and is so supportive and Dr. Pollema has been an amazing partner in getting my meds correct and cheering me on the sidelines. I honestly could not have done this without both their knowledge and support

I used to avoid having my picture taken, but now I can confidently say I like what I see and that I’m always a work in progress. Never stop believing you can do it! Thank you Enara!!!

Christine’s journey to onederland: down 33% of her starting weight (over 90 lbs)!

Christine reached onederland by August 2022

Christine has reduced her percent body fat by ~15%

PBF (Percent Body Fat) is the percentage of your body that is made up of fat. Everything else is usually referred to as “lean tissue.” This gives a more accurate representation of health, fitness and leanness.

Christine decreased her inflammation by 63%

  • High sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) is a marker of inflammation.
  • The hs-CRP test may be used to help evaluate an individual for cardiovascular disease risk.
  • Low risk: less than 1.0 mg/L; average risk: 1.0 to 3.0 mg/L; high risk: above 3.0 mg/L.

Christine reduced her triglycerides by 35%

  • Fatty foods and carbohydrates that we eat are broken down into globs of fat called triglycerides.
  • High levels of triglycerides can increase your risk for heart disease, stroke, and nerve damage.
  • Excess glucose in the blood can be used to make triglycerides, which is why people with insulin sensitivity, pre-diabetes, or diabetes often also have elevated triglycerides.
