“I’ve had a lifelong struggle with my weight and like many of you reading this had tried every fad diet on the planet. Some worked, most didn’t – but none of them were sustainable and all of them resulted in eventually gaining the weight back, plus some. I thought the day I weighed in to deliver my twins would have been the tipping point but as it turned out it would take me another kid, 3 more years almost 30 more pounds to realize this body was no longer the one I wanted to walk around with and something had to change. In January 2018 I found myself tired, irritable (just ask my husband, he’s happy to describe – in detail – how awful I was to be around!). I even looked for excuses to get out of social events with new people. I had finally realized losing weight was something I just could not do on my own. I made an appointment with my doctor to get labs done and go for a long overdue physical where I sobbed in her office while she went over the results. I was morbidly obese, I was on the cusp of being pre-diabetic, I had high cholesterol and worst of all, I was teaching my children the same bad habits. My doctor slid a pamphlet across the table for Enara Health and told me she has seen only positive outcomes for anyone that signs up. I put it on my fridge for weeks and glanced at it every time I opened the freezer for a scoop of mint chocolate chip ice cream before bed and wondered how I got to this point. One day, I actually called and that was the day that changed my life.

In January I met with Dr. Rami who laid it all out on the table. He mapped out the pros and cons of each weight loss plan and possible outcomes for me to think about before I pulled the trigger. This was a new year – the year of me. I chose the plan with the biggest risk yet the biggest reward – 90 day VLCD. The next week I began the journey that seemed like a giant mountain to climb but I just took it one day at a time, inching my way towards my goal and reminding myself I was worth it.

Over the course of 90 days I met weekly with my dietician Rebecca and used my app religiously as a lifeline and tool for success. I met with Vince to set up a plan at home to do resistance training 3x a week to maintain muscles while the rest of me shrank. Once a month we did body compositions to make sure I was on track for my goals. Throughout my 90 day VLCD plan I was supported, educated and empowered by everyone at Enara.

The main thing for me that was different about trying to lose weight on my own was being held accountable by someone other than my husband who took a vow to love me “for better or worse.” It wasn’t easy, I wasn’t perfect – but I did surprise myself by being stronger than I thought I could be (especially with 3 little kids and a cabinet of snacks and treats fully stocked in the house). I was also pleasantly surprised that I actually enjoyed foods you can’t get in a drive thru. I learned that food is fuel and sometimes cheaper gas doesn’t get you the best mileage. Did you know that you won’t die after giving up things like Diet Coke and cake? Within a week on the VLCD I had retrained my mind to make better choices, kicked several sugar cravings and most importantly hit the reset button on my metabolism so that it began to work for me, not against me.

Within 90 days I had lost 40lbs and gained so much energy, confidence and control over my food choices. Today, I stand before you over 50lbs lighter, 3 pants sizes smaller and with a cholesterol of 185 (down from 235). I have lost over 10% of my body weight since I started with Enara! Fun Fact: I’m now only a few pounds away from being the weight I lied about being on my driver’s license! While I’m now on the next phase (the “maintenance plan”) and slowly adding more foods back into my rotation – I’m still slowly losing weight and consistently feeling like this is a lifestyle change I can make work for the long haul. This plan has so many benefits not only for me, but for my friends and family! If you are like me and need outside support to help you see the light at the end of the tunnel, Enara can show you the way. If you need guidance, education and empowerment on your journey to health, Enara is the place to start! I could say a lot of cliché things but here are just a few important ones to remember and some I just made up: Everybody is different. Every body is different. Every outcome will vary but EVERY pound lost is a victory – YOU ARE WORTH IT!! Now go be awesome so one day I can read about YOU as the Enara Rockstar of the month!
Grace,
Lindsey”

Weight Loss Progress:
Lindsey was able to lose 57 Lbs (23.5% of her body weight) in 6 months

LDL Progress: 22.3%

  • LDL is the bad cholesterol.
  • It collects in the walls of blood vessels leading to atherosclerosis which put you at greater risk for a heart attack or stroke.
  • The goal for people with one other risk factor for heart disease (e.g. increased BMI, high blood pressure, diabetes, family history) is an LDL level under 100.

Triglycerides Progress: 18.5%

  • Fatty foods and carbohydrates that we eat are broken down into globs of fat called triglycerides.
  • High levels of triglycerides can increase your risk for heart disease, stroke, and nerve damage.
  • Excess glucose in the blood can be used to make triglycerides, which is why people with insulin sensitivity, prediabetes, or Diabetes often also have elevated triglycerides.

Reduced her body fat percentage by 10.4

  • PBF (Percent Body Fat) is the percentage of your body that is made up of fat. Everything else is usually referred to as “lean tissue.” This gives a more accurate representation of health, fitness and leanness.
