Active Maintenance: Strategies for Longterm Weight Management and Emotional Endurance

Are you close or have you reached your goal weight and improved your overall health status? If so, please join us for a one session course that addresses the medical and psychological factors that can impact success with weight management over the long term. Co-leaders Lydia Alexander, MD and Roopal Lalaji, PsyD will share insights to help you actively engage in maintaining the weight lost and retaining the commitment made, for the long run.

Emotional Eating: An End InSight

Do you find yourself turning to food when stressed, sad, joyous, or bored? Food can serve many purposes in our lives in addition to nutrition. However, if we over rely on food to help manage our emotions, there is a risk of developing a troubled relationship that can impact health and mood. Join Drs. Andrea Pollema and Roopal Lalaji for a one session class that will provide education and strategies to address emotional eating. Be prepared for the holiday season and the year ahead!

Mindful Eating in Practice

Put mindful eating into practice with this 5-week group led by Drs. Lydia Alexander and Roopal Lalaji. The group is focused on helping you transform your relationship with food and develop a kinder, gentler approach to eating. Weekly group sessions will include psychoeducation on mindful eating as well as guided mindfulness practices to engage your senses and encourage a deeper appreciation of every bite and ingredient you consume. This group will challenge you to plan out your weekly meals with intention, remove distractions, reconnect with your senses, better understand the role of physiology in mindful eating, and increase your awareness of your entire experience of eating. Please bring 2 berries of any kind for the first session as we will be doing an in class activity!

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy for Breaking Free from Binge Eating

Coping with Stress and Anxiety

This 6 week group led by Drs. Andrea Pollema and Roopal Lalaji will introduce a variety of techniques to cope with stress and anxiety during these uncertain times. Weekly groups will include topics such as understanding the mind-body connection, learning techniques to respond in more helpful ways to your anxious thoughts, and introducing daily gratitude, breathing, and mindfulness practice. The overall goal of this group will be to help you increase your stress resilience, reduce anxiety, and learn coping skills to feel confident in your ability to navigate daily stressors.
