Nellya Vayngortin

Dr. Vayngortin was born and raised in Ukraine and completed medical school in Russia prior to coming to the United States. She completed residency in Internal Medicine at the Jewish Hospital/University of Cincinnati, after which she has worked as a physician at Kaiser Permanente since 1999, practicing adult internal medicine and care. Her passions include the prevention of chronic disease, women’s health, and weight management. Dr. Vayngortin served as the medical director of the medical weight management program since 2010, and was one of the physician leads of the Kaiser Intensive weight loss medication program since 2023. She is fluent in Russian, Ukrainian, and English and enjoys serving the diverse patient population of the Bay Area. Throughout her career, she has enjoyed teaching the next generation of doctors, mentoring residents and medical students. Outside of medicine, she enjoys spending time with her family and dancing.
