Amy Wier, MD

Born and raised in Minnesota, Dr. Amy Wier completed medical school in Chicago before moving to Pennsylvania in 2016 to train in emergency medicine. As an emergency physician, she saw the profound impact of obesity on long-term health—experiences that inspired her dedication to obesity prevention and management. In December 2024, she became board-certified in obesity medicine, deepening her ability to support patients with compassionate, evidence-based care.

Now, as a bariatrician, she finds great fulfillment in building lasting relationships with patients, guiding them toward sustainable lifestyle changes and meaningful weight loss. She also continues to practice emergency medicine on a per-diem basis, which keeps her grounded in acute care while enriching her holistic approach to patient health. This balance allows her to serve both the immediate and long-term needs of the people she cares for. In her free time, she loves spending time with her family.
