Rockstar of The Month - June 2018
When I started Enara, I weighed in at 190lbs. In my initial meeting with Dr. B, I told him
"I’ve had a lifelong struggle with my weight and like many of you reading this had tried every fad diet on the planet. Some worked, most didn’t - but none of them were sustainable and all of them resulted in eventually gaining the weight back, plus some. I thought the day I weighed in to deliver my twins would have been the tipping point but as it turned out it would take me another kid, 3 more years almost 30 more pounds to realize this body was no longer the one I wanted to walk around with and something had to change. In January 2018 I found myself tired, irritable (just ask my husband, he’s happy to describe - in detail – how awful I was to be around!). I even looked for excuses to get out of social events with new people. I had finally realized losing weight was something I just could not do on my own. I made an appointment with my doctor to get labs done and go for a long overdue physical where I sobbed in her office while she went over the results. I was morbidly obese, I was on the cusp of being pre-diabetic, I had high cholesterol and worst of all, I was teaching my children the same bad habits. My doctor slid a pamphlet across the table for Enara Health and told me she has seen only positive outcomes for anyone that signs up. I put it on my fridge for weeks and glanced at it every time I opened the freezer for a scoop of mint chocolate chip ice cream before bed and wondered how I got to this point. One day, I actually called and that was the day that changed my life.

Weight Loss Progress: Lindsey was able to lose 57 Lbs (23.5% of her body weight) in 6 months

LDL Progress: 22.3%

- LDL is the bad cholesterol.
- It collects in the walls of blood vessels leading to atherosclerosis which put you at greater risk for a heart attack or stroke.
- The goal for people with one other risk factor for heart disease (e.g. increased BMI, high blood pressure, diabetes, family history) is an LDL level under 100.
Triglycerides Progress: 18.5%

- Fatty foods and carbohydrates that we eat are broken down into globs of fat called triglycerides.
- High levels of triglycerides can increase your risk for heart disease, stroke, and nerve damage.
- Excess glucose in the blood can be used to make triglycerides, which is why people with insulin sensitivity, prediabetes, or Diabetes often also have elevated triglycerides.
Reduced her body fat percentage by 10.4

- PBF (Percent Body Fat) is the percentage of your body that is made up of fat. Everything else is usually referred to as "lean tissue." This gives a more accurate representation of health, fitness and leanness.
