A Journey from “Getting By” to Truly Living

At 47 years old, Rachel Krediet wears many hats. She’s a devoted mother of four, married to her high school sweetheart for 24 years. She works as an office manager for an academic department at a university. For two decades, she poured her heart into caring for her family.

But somewhere along the way, she realized something powerful: she deserved that same level of care, too.

A Wake-Up Call She Didn’t See Coming

For a long time, Rachel believed she was managing just fine.

Yes, she was extremely overweight—but she was keeping up with her responsibilities. She was showing up for work. She was caring for her family. She was pushing through.

Or so she thought.

A visit to Urgent Care for something completely unrelated to her weight changed everything. When her blood pressure was taken, the nurse checked it. Then checked it again. And again. She asked Rachel if she was feeling dizzy. Lightheaded. Short of breath.

She wasn’t.

Despite having extremely high blood pressure, she had none of the typical symptoms. That’s when Rachel learned why high blood pressure is often called the “silent killer.” It can go undetected for years, quietly causing damage.

She was told to follow up with her primary care provider and that medication would likely be necessary. Thankfully, it had been caught before permanent damage was done.

But in that moment, Rachel knew something had to change.

She just didn’t know where to start.

Taking the First Step

At her PCP appointment, she was started on blood pressure medication. But she was also introduced to Enara Health.

Rachel had struggled with her weight for a long time. She had researched. She had read. She had tried to make sense of the overwhelming world of health information. And like so many people, she found herself stuck—not because she didn’t care, but because she didn’t know which direction to take.

So she made a decision: she would take advantage of the opportunity for real support.

A year and a half later, Rachel has lost over 140 pounds.

Let that sink in.

She is now nearly half her original weight.

And perhaps even more importantly, she says she feels amazing.

“I have so much more energy,” she shares. “I am truly living, not just getting through my days.”

Learning to Trust the Process

Rachel describes herself as someone who researches everything. Information matters to her. Facts matter. Data matters.

That’s part of why Enara’s evidence-based approach resonated so deeply.

“I appreciate that Enara uses methods that are inarguably healthy and that I’ll be able to maintain long-term,” she says.

There was comfort in knowing she didn’t have to second-guess whether she was doing the “right” thing. The Plate Method? Healthy. Strength training? Good for her body. Whole foods? Nourishing and sustainable.

She didn’t have to debate the science. She just had to trust the process.

And that trust has taken her further than she ever imagined.

“I’m very good at doing what I’m told,” she says with a smile, describing herself as a middle child and a people-pleaser. “But making decisions and sticking to them is where I struggled in the past.”

This time was different.

This time, she had a team.

The Power of Support

Rachel is quick to say that she could not have done this alone.

“I appreciate the support of my Enara team more than words can say.”

Knowing she would check in regularly with her nutrition and exercise specialists helped her stay accountable while she built new habits. For her, that consistent connection made all the difference.

It took about ten months for her brain to fully adopt eating whole foods consistently. Ten months of learning. Adjusting. Rewiring old patterns.

And then something shifted.

Once the transition happened, she was able to let go of her previous mindset. She found new recipes to replace old “family favorites.” Meals that not only tasted good—but left her feeling truly nourished.

“I feel truly nourished now in a way I never did before.”

As the primary person navigating food for her entire household, that shift was profound. Meghan, her nutrition specialist, helped her balance her own needs with those of her family. That guidance was invaluable.

Reclaiming Her Strength

There’s another part of Rachel’s story that makes her smile.

She used to be strong. “Freakishly strong,” she jokes—like Monica from Friends. But over the years, as her weight increased and her body felt more difficult to manage, she began to feel weak.

That changed, too.

Even when it’s hard to get up at 5:45 a.m., she shows up for her strength training workouts. Not because she “has to.” But because her mindset has shifted.

Exercise is no longer punishment. It’s a priority for long-term health.

“Seeing my muscles again and feeling strong is wonderful,” she says. “It’s a feeling I never want to lose again.”

Kristin, her exercise specialist, has been challenging her and cheering her on from the very beginning. That combination of accountability and encouragement helped Rachel rediscover not just strength—but confidence.

The Numbers That Tell a Story

For someone who loves information, seeing objective data has been incredibly motivating.

Her nurse practitioner, Sara, has walked her through her lab results—comparing where she started to where she is now. Watching those numbers improve has been a powerful reminder that her effort is working.

Having access to lab results and InBody scans gave Rachel more than validation. It gave her clarity.

“I love knowing all the information possible on a subject,” she says. “Seeing the facts is beneficial to me.”

And those facts are clear.

Recently, Rachel was taken off her blood pressure medication.

The same medication she was told she would likely need long-term.

That is not just a milestone. It’s a transformation.

A Family Affair

Rachel’s journey hasn’t just changed her life.

Her husband—her high school sweetheart—supported her every step of the way. Eventually, he decided to join Enara as well. Now, they are both on their own health journeys, each with their own care team.

There’s something powerful about that shared commitment.

When one person chooses to prioritize their health, it often ripples outward.

For Rachel, that ripple has strengthened her entire family.

“The Morning Is Mine”

So much has changed over the past year and a half.

She wears smaller clothes. Her rings are loose. Even the seats in their vehicles felt different—until she realized she was simply sitting lower because she no longer had the extra padding she once carried.

But perhaps the most meaningful change isn’t visible.

It’s her mindset.

“I used to be so tired that getting up in the morning to work out seemed impossible.”

Now, she lives by a simple phrase:

“The Morning is Mine.”

The morning is when she takes care of herself—so she can show up fully for everyone else.

For years, she put herself last.

Now, she understands something deeply important: taking care of herself first isn’t selfish. It’s essential.

A Journey Worth Taking

Rachel Krediet’s story is not about perfection. It’s about commitment. It’s about learning. It’s about trusting a process rooted in science and supported by compassionate professionals.

It’s about shifting from surviving to thriving.

From “getting through the day” to truly living it.

Her advice to others is simple but powerful: trust the process. Use the tools. Lean on your team. Stay curious. Stay committed.

And perhaps most importantly—believe that you are worth the effort.

Rachel spent two decades taking care of everyone else.

Now, she takes care of herself, too.

And in doing so, she has created a healthier, stronger, more energized life—for herself and for the people she loves most.
