Stevie’s Story

My journey with Enara began in June 2022. At 38 years old, having been a stay-at-home mom for many years, I faced the challenge of maintaining a steady weight after my two boys reached ages 11 and 13. Despite trying nearly every diet imaginable, I would lose a few initial pounds, hit a plateau, abandon the diet, and subsequently regain the weight — and then some. This frustrating cycle persisted for years.

The turning point came during an OB/GYN appointment when my doctor introduced me to Enara and referred me to their program. Initially skeptical, I worried about wasting money on yet another diet. However, the first few weeks at Enara, while overwhelming with all the appointments and tests, led to a significant discovery. My blood work revealed that I was insulin resistant, pre-diabetic, and other health markers were also concerning. This, coupled with a prior diagnosis of sleep apnea, made it clear I needed to commit fully and give the program a genuine effort.

Natalie, my nutrition specialist, was instrumental in easing my transition to new eating habits. Her approach of suggesting simple swaps, like “try this instead of that,” and her supportive nature in handling the occasional dietary slip helped me immensely. She taught me that it’s okay to deviate sometimes as long as I remained mindful. Natalie provided me with the necessary tools to succeed in this lifestyle change.

Kirill, my exercise specialist, played a crucial role by pushing me to adhere more strictly to the regimen. I had always disliked working out, associating it with tedious cardio, which I despised. Kirill introduced me to simple home workouts initially, which paved the way for me to join a local gym in January 2023. Since then, I have been lifting weights consistently three times a week and, surprisingly, I find myself enjoying it most days.

The result of these changes has been life-altering — I have lost 110 pounds. I feel comfortable and confident in my body, wear clothes I love, keep up with my now 13 and 15-year-old boys, and boast normal lab results and a healthy BMI for the first time since high school. My mental health has seen tremendous improvement as well.

As I celebrate turning 40, I am equipped with the tools for a lifetime of health and never want to return to my previous state. My Enara experience has not just been about losing weight; it has been about gaining a whole new lease on life.

Stevie's triglycerides

  • Fatty foods and carbohydrates that we eat are broken down into globs of fat called triglycerides.
  • High levels of triglycerides can increase your risk for heart disease, stroke, and nerve damage.
  • Excess glucose in the blood can be used to make triglycerides, which is why people with insulin sensitivity, pre-diabetes, or diabetes often also have elevated triglycerides.
