Kristin’s Journey Back to Herself
At 54 years old, Kristin is someone who wears many hats—mom to three adult children, proud grandmother, dedicated public servant, and someone who deeply values time outdoors with her family. From motorcycle rides and camping trips to fishing weekends, she has always loved being active. But for decades, her weight and health made it harder to fully show up for the life she wanted to live.
When she first started with Enara, she wasn’t just carrying extra weight—she was carrying exhaustion, frustration, and discouragement. She describes feeling depressed, achy, and drained of energy. Simple joys, like running and playing with her grandson, felt out of reach. “I just wanted to hide,” she shared.
At her highest weight of 210 pounds, her health markers told a concerning story: prediabetes, high cholesterol despite medication, a BMI of 31.3, and a visceral fat level of 18. After years of trying to lose weight on her own, losing and regaining the same pounds over and over, she felt stuck and defeated, worried this was how life would always feel.
A Referral That Changed Everything
It was a conversation with her primary care provider that opened a new door. Wanting real guidance and something sustainable, she was referred to Enara. From the very first consultation, something felt different.
Instead of pressure or unrealistic expectations, she felt motivated, supported, and ready.
She chose the Step-Wise approach and began working closely with her nutrition specialist, Natalie. Together, they focused on something refreshingly simple: small, manageable changes. No drastic rules. No overwhelm.
The first step was starting the day with breakfast and drinking more water. Then came adding a healthy lunch, followed by a balanced dinner. One habit at a time.
“This was exactly what I needed,” she shared. “I didn’t feel overwhelmed or deprived.”
For the first time, food felt approachable. She didn’t have to count calories or constantly measure portions. Taking photos of her meals and sharing them with her nutrition specialist became a helpful, judgment-free way to learn. She even discovered healthier versions of foods she already enjoyed—proof that this wasn’t about restriction, but nourishment.
Building Strength—Inside and Out
As her nutrition habits became more consistent, she began working with her exercise coach, Kristin, who helped her lay a strong foundation for strength training. With patience, encouragement, and personalized plans, movement slowly became something she looked forward to.
When boredom crept in, new workouts appeared. When questions came up, messages were answered quickly. She describes her coach as not just knowledgeable, but a true cheerleader.
With the support of her medical provider as well, she began to understand her body in a deeper way—how nutrition, movement, and mental health all connect.
“This program has been truly transformative,” she said.
Progress Beyond the Scale
Over time, the changes added up in powerful ways.
Today, she is more active than she’s been in years—running around outside with her grandson, strength training, and riding her bike. Her health markers tell a completely different story:
- No longer prediabetic
- Cholesterol levels improved enough to stop medication
- Visceral fat reduced from 18 to 6
- BMI down from 31.3 to 22.9
But even more meaningful than the numbers is how she feels.
“My mind, body, and spirit have all improved,” she shared. “I have my life back.”
She feels revitalized, motivated, and deeply grateful—for the support, the education, and the confidence she’s gained along the way.
Why the Team Matters
One of the biggest differences for her was never feeling alone. With Enara, she felt like she truly had a team—medical provider, nutrition specialist, and exercise coach—all working together, all invested in her success.
The app made everything accessible in one place: appointments, messaging, education, and support whenever she needed it. It removed barriers and made consistency easier, even with a busy life.
Words of Wisdom for Others
Looking back, her advice is rooted in compassion and patience:
“Don’t rush the process. Take the time you need to build sustainable habits. Allow yourself some grace.”
She’s learned that one tough day or one less-than-ideal food choice doesn’t define the journey. What matters is acknowledging it, learning from it, and choosing again.
A New Chapter
This journey wasn’t about perfection—it was about progress, support, and self-care. Through Enara, she didn’t just lose weight; she gained confidence, energy, and a renewed appreciation for herself.
Her story is a reminder that sustainable change is possible when you’re met with understanding, expert guidance, and encouragement every step of the way. And that it’s never too late to feel strong, capable, and fully present in your life again.
We’re proud to celebrate her as our Rockstar of the Month, and even more proud of the life she’s reclaiming, one habit at a time. 🌟
