Emily’s Journey of Consistency, Support, and Sustainable ChangeHanadi’s Journey to Health, Confidence, and Joy

For many people, starting a weight loss journey isn’t about lack of effort; it’s about finding the right kind of support at the right time. For this month’s Rockstar of the Month, a 42-year-old psychologist working at the VA, that support made all the difference.

Balancing a demanding career with everyday life, she enjoys walking her dog and spending time playing board games with her husband and friends. Like many others, she had already taken steps toward improving her health before joining Enara Health. She had started weight loss medication and lost about 20 pounds, but eventually, progress stalled. That pause became a turning point.

Her doctor recommended Enara, and she agreed that having more structure and guidance could help her move forward in a sustainable way.

Finding the Right Fit

From the beginning, the member recognized that meaningful change would require more than just willpower; it would take collaboration. One of the most impactful tools for her was surprisingly simple: taking pictures of her food.

“Taking pictures of food and discussing my diet with my nutritionist has been extremely helpful,” she shared. This practice became a quick, effective way to communicate, reflect, and stay accountable without feeling overwhelmed.

Together with her nutritionist, she decided the Stepwise program was the best fit. They worked intentionally to adjust meals so they aligned with the plan’s guidelines, focusing on realistic changes rather than extremes. Having access to recipes that fit her plan made those adjustments feel doable and even empowering.

Once those changes were in place, the results followed.

“My weight started to drop as soon as I made changes to my diet,” she said.

Building Momentum Through Support

As nutrition fell into place, movement followed. With guidance from her exercise specialist, she developed a plan for working out regularly and began walking more—an activity she genuinely enjoyed.

“It felt good to be eating healthy food and being more active,” she reflected.

That sense of feeling good became an important motivator. Rather than chasing perfection, she focused on consistency. Regular check-in appointments and continuing to take food pictures helped her stay on track, even as life continued to be busy.

Over time, the progress added up in a powerful way.

She has now lost 80 pounds since starting Enara a little over a year ago.

Progress Beyond the Scale

While the weight loss itself is remarkable, the changes went far beyond the number on the scale. Her body fat percentage is now in the healthy range, and she reports having more energy than she’s had in years.

There have been meaningful physical improvements too—less pain in her joints, neck, and back, more ease with stairs and long walks, and better sleep. Most simply put, she shared:

“Overall, I just feel good.”

These non-scale victories are a reminder that health is about how life feels—not just how it looks on paper.

Lessons Learned Along the Way

One of the most important insights she gained through this journey was a shift in mindset.

“I have learned that being consistent is more important than perfection,” she said.

Rather than getting caught up in daily fluctuations, she learned to focus on patterns over time. She also developed confidence in navigating real life—going out to eat, taking vacations, and enjoying special occasions—while still making healthy choices.

That balance has been key to making her progress feel sustainable and realistic.

The Power of a Multidisciplinary Team

A consistent theme throughout her journey has been the value of support. Working with a multidisciplinary team of providers gave her reassurance that she wasn’t doing this alone.

“It is nice to know that they are available if something comes up or I have a question,” she shared. “They have also been nonjudgmental, which is appreciated.”

That sense of safety and encouragement allowed her to ask questions, navigate challenges, and focus on long-term maintenance—not just short-term results.

She especially highlighted her nutritionist, Danielle, who helped her think through potentially challenging situations with care and compassion. Feeling acknowledged for the effort she was putting in made a real difference.

“The whole team has been great, especially with acknowledging the work that has gone into this process,” she said.

Staying Accountable, Staying Empowered

For this member, accountability never felt punitive—it felt supportive. Knowing her team would be checking in helped keep her motivated, and the simple habit of food photos became a powerful anchor.

“Being able to take pictures of my food has been a quick and effective way of communicating with my nutritionist and keeping myself accountable,” she shared.

It’s a reminder that sometimes, the smallest tools—used consistently—can create the biggest change.

Staying Accountable, Staying Empowered

This journey is a testament to what can happen when consistency, self-compassion, and the right support come together. Through steady changes, thoughtful guidance, and a focus on long-term health, this Rockstar of the Month has created a life that feels lighter, stronger, and more energized.

Her story is a powerful reminder that progress doesn’t require perfection—just commitment, curiosity, and the willingness to accept support along the way. 🌟
