Grocery Spotlight: Costco Sardines

Costco Sardines

This week’s grocery spotlight features another one of our favorite Costco finds. Sardines often get a bad rap, but around here we love them for their stellar nutrition profile. Each can contains just 240 calories, 29g of protein and is an excellent source of heart healthy omega-3 fatty acids. We encourage 2 3.5 oz servings of fatty fish (such as sardines, salmon, or mackeral) per week, and adding these sardines to your meal rotation can help you reach those goals. Conveintely individually packaged, these sardines make a great quick protein to keep on hand for emergencies, or at work to throw on top of a salad for a fast and tasty VLCD meal. Just drain the excess oil before using. Make sure to check these out at your next Costco run!
