Finding Strength, Grace, and a New Way Forward
At Enara Health, we celebrate stories of courage, resilience, and transformation. This month, we are proud to highlight Jody, a 48-year-old wife, mother, and animal lover whose journey reminds us that even in life’s most challenging seasons, hope and healing are possible.
A New Beginning in the Face of Adversity
Jody’s story begins with a full and busy life. She has been married for 23 years, is the proud mother of two wonderful teenage children, and shares her home with a cat, an African Grey parrot, and a playful Whoodle puppy. For two decades, she dedicated her career to helping others as a master’s level counselor in the substance abuse field, supporting individuals through their own healing journeys.
In 2021, everything changed. A combination of health challenges including Multiple Sclerosis, ME/CFS, Crohn’s Disease, and later Type 2 Diabetes forced her into permanent disability. The physical toll was significant, with intense muscle pain, fatigue, and mobility limitations that made even simple tasks difficult. “When I started with Enara, I felt broken down, insecure, and lost,” she shares.
At her highest weight and unable to exercise, Jody worried that sustainable change was out of reach. She had tried countless well-known weight loss programs before, but nothing lasted. That’s when her longtime cardiologist, who had been by her side for over two decades, introduced her to Enara Health and to Maggie, the program representative who would become one of her biggest cheerleaders.

A Program That Meets You Where You Are
From the very beginning, Jody knew this experience would be different. “Enara takes your individual needs, concerns, and goals and turns them into a completely personalized plan,” she explains.
She describes the Enara approach as compassionate, adaptable, and empowering, especially for someone navigating complex medical conditions. “I can’t always cook my own meals or exercise like others can,” Jody says. “But my team worked with me, not against me.”
Her nutritionist, Sarah, focused on helping her find healthy premade food options that supported her goals without overwhelming her. Her exercise coach, Sam, designed realistic movement routines focused on improving activities of daily living, the small, meaningful actions that make daily life more comfortable. And her doctor, Dr. Murray, provided education and encouragement around the medical aspects of weight loss, helping Jody see the positive impact of each milestone through her body composition scans.
Together, they became what Jody lovingly calls her “dream team.”
Small Steps, Big Victories
With her team’s support, Jody has made incredible progress, losing 73 pounds and regaining her health and confidence in the process. But for her, the real victories go far beyond the scale.
Her Type 2 Diabetes is now well-managed and in remission, her mobility and breathing have improved, and she’s more active and engaged in her family’s life again. “I feel better emotionally and physically,” she says. “I’m not wanting to isolate or hide from the world so much anymore.”
Even her day-to-day energy has transformed. What once felt impossible, like moving without pain or joining in family activities, is now part of her daily reality. “Enara has changed my life by improving my health, my self-esteem, and my outlook on living my best life,” she reflects.

The Power of Support and Connection
Jody’s gratitude for her care team shines through every word. “They’ve become like family,” she says warmly. She describes Maggie as “a warm, kindred soul who makes me laugh until my cheeks hurt,” Dr. Murray as “wise, caring, and attentive,” Sarah as “my favorite out-of-the-box thinker,” and Sam as “kind, considerate, and passionate about my physical health.”
“They’re my biggest cheerleaders,” she adds. “They celebrate my wins, support me through challenges, and understand the pace that works best for me.”
Technology That Empowers, Not Pressures
The Enara app and daily tracking tools have become an essential part of Jody’s journey, not as a source of stress but as a foundation for accountability and growth.
“By logging my meals and weight each day, I take responsibility for my choices,” she says. “It’s not about shame; it’s about being honest and giving my team the information they need to tailor my plan.” This transparency has helped her feel supported rather than judged, and the real-time feedback keeps her motivated to stay on course.
Words of Wisdom
When asked what she’s learned along the way, Jody offers heartfelt advice to others starting their own weight loss journey:
“Not everyone fits in the same box. Give yourself grace. Challenge your negative self-talk and remember that you get what you put into this program. It’s okay if you stumble or struggle. Just stay open and honest with your team, because they’re here to help, guide, and support you. This isn’t a quick fix; it’s a lifetime change. It’s a marathon, not a sprint.”
A Journey of Hope and Healing
Today, Jody stands as a radiant example of what’s possible when compassion, persistence, and expert care come together. Her 73-pound weight loss is an extraordinary achievement, but it’s her renewed sense of purpose and joy that truly inspire.
Her story reminds us that even when life takes unexpected turns, there’s always a path forward with the right guidance, community, and belief in yourself.
