Explore Phoenix area farmers markets for fresh, seasonal produce this September! Includes a list of local options by area.

Farmers markets are a great way to support local farmers, eat seasonal foods and get inspired by locally grown fruits and vegetables that you might not see at the big chain grocery stores.

What’s in season?

September lands us squarely between summer and fall, with available local produce from both seasons. The Arizona Farm Bureau lists produce in season by the month, with links to farms, farmers markets and recipes using seasonal produce. Check out September’s local produce list: apples, arugula, black-eyed peas, chiles, corn, cucumbers, figs, green beans, herbs, okra, pears, pumpkins, shelling beans, summer and winter squash, sweet peppers, tomatoes, zucchini, and zucchini blossoms.
