Frank’s Story
Since graduating from high school, I have struggled with my weight. I’d go for long periods of time being overweight and then I would try some diet or meal program. I would lose weight for a while, but it would always come back.
Last year, late December of 2021, I was at a doctor’s appointment and my doctor said that my main health problem was being so overweight. He mentioned a place that a couple of his office personnel were going to and that was how I first heard about Enara. I called that day and made an appointment for a consultation. I decided to start the program right after the holidays. When I began my journey on January 4th of 2022, I was 326 lbs.
Wow! The support and accountability I received from my team of professionals was and still is incredible. I was on a strict VLCD (very low calorie diet) for the first 6 months. It was very difficult the first few weeks but eventually it got easier and became the new normal. I work nights and a lot of hours every week. My work schedule was the biggest obstacle for my overall health.
It took a minute to get into a routine but once I figured that out with the help of the Enara team the weight started dropping off. It was very helpful for me to weigh every day. I started to notice little things like getting down on the floor to play with my grandchildren was possible unlike before.
I have been on a maintenance program since July and my weight is still going down. Stephanie, my Nutrition Specialist, slowly increased my daily calorie intake but my eating habits have changed so much that I still eat very similar to the VLCD. The monthly body composition tests are great for keeping track of my progress. Bryan, my Exercise Specialist has tailored my workouts to my life and goals and has kept my muscle loss very minimal. We are changing my workouts to prepare me for my open water scuba certification in January.
I am not sure exactly when but at some point while I was on the Enara program, my life completely changed. I am currently around 210 lbs and have been maintaining this weight for a few months now. I will never be able to thank Bryan, Stephanie and Leticia enough for giving me my life back. I am able to go walking, bicycling and all kinds of activities with my wife, my grandchildren and friends. Thank you so much Enara for helping me to change my life!
