Meet Tracey, our October Rockstar! She has lost and kept off over 15% of her starting weight.
I started my Enara journey after reading an article in the NYT. We were 7 months into the pandemic and I was quickly approaching the highest weight I’ve ever been. I went to a yearly check up and my cholesterol was higher than the average and I decided then to enroll. I really didn’t know what to expect when starting the program, but I think I wanted more structure and guidance when it came to my health. I have never really felt comfortable in my body since having my son 6 years ago. Before I had him my career was cooking in restaurants working 60+ hours a week, in my 20s. My routine drastically changed and I never found a good health/work balance until I joined Enara. I am a single parent, and had a kindergartener at home doing remote school when this started.
I am thankful for the accountability and guidance my Enara team has given me this year. At first, my RD Dana, set out 90 day meal challenges that provided structure for me. I began to lose weight gradually almost right away. I learned how to structure my eating pattern, and experiment with what worked and what didn’t. Then a couple months in, I started working with my trainer Anthony to introduce workouts to my weekly routine. I learned how to incorporate movement and exercise into my routine gradually, and stick with it. Yes, there are weeks where it seems like there is no time to fit workouts in, but returning to the routine after that happens is what has changed. I find myself wanting or needing to get workouts in to feel physically and mentally better. My weight loss has been gradual, but has fluctuated. I got to my then lowest weight in May, and Bridget, my PA, was the best cheerleader. I celebrated with a trip to NYC and it felt great. Over the summer, my routine really changed. I began to socialize more with friends and family, and had a commute for the first time during the pandemic. It really shook up my world and I stuck around the same weight range all summer. I finally got a grip of the change in life routine, especially with my kid back in school this fall. I am beginning to shave off a couple more pounds, and am at my lowest weight currently.
One of my favorite aspects of this program is the ability to see the data. I can remind myself of weeks where it feels like I’m going nowhere, but then I look back and see that I have continued to persevere and continue this journey. I am most happy about finding balance in making time for movement and exercise without it being such a big deal. Now, I find myself making more choices with intention. Most of all, my love for cooking food and learning about food has grown even more after working with Dana. I am happy to be learning about how food can affect my health, and I am currently taking a microcourse at a university to dive even deeper into the subject.
Thank you to Dana, Anthony, Bridget, and Amy for all our help and support!

Tracey’s Percent Body Fat:
PBF (Percent Body Fat) is the percentage of your body that is made up of fat. Everything else is usually referred to as “lean tissue.” This gives a more accurate representation of health, fitness and leanness.
Tracey lowered her LDL cholesterol by 10%:
- LDL is the bad cholesterol.
- It collects in the walls of blood vessels leading to atherosclerosis which put you at greater risk for a heart attack or stroke.
- The goal for people with one other risk factor for heart disease (e.g. increased BMI, high blood pressure, diabetes, family history) is an LDL level under 100.
