When patients start with Enara, they often hear us talk about ancient grains but have never heard of them and/or tried them before. Enara loves ancient grains because they tend to be higher in fiber and protein per serving than your conventional grains like white rice, brown rice, and even couscous. This means that they can provide you a longer period of satiety, so you feel full for a longer period of time!
We found this great blend of ancient grains at Costco with wheat berries, pearl millet, sorghum, amaranth, and finger millet. It is seasoned with dried onion, red bell pepper, garlic, chili pepper, and turmeric so you don’t even have to think about how to season it. And it is already COOKED, so all you have to do is heat it up and you’re ready to go! You can throw it into your salad bowl or even add it to a soup to make it more hearty. It’s tasty, fast and convenient!
